TEETH WHITENING PRE-CARE

INSTRUCTIONS

Before Your Appointment:

Do not brush immediately before treatment. Brushing can make gums more sensitive to the whitening gel.

Avoid staining foods and drinks for 24–48 hours before (coffee, tea, red wine, berries, etc.).

Eat a good meal beforehand — you won’t be able to eat for a couple of hours after treatment.

Stay hydrated; dry mouth can make sensitivity worse.

Dental Readiness:

• Make sure you’ve had a recent dental cleaning (within the past 6 months).

• Postpone whitening if you have cavities, gum irritation, or exposed roots, as these can cause discomfort.

Remove any lip products before your appointment (lip balm, lipstick, gloss).

Sensitivity Preparation:

• If you experience sensitivity, begin using a sensitive-teeth toothpaste (e.g., Sensodyne) about 5–7 days prior.

Avoid Certain Products:

• Skip whitening toothpaste, strips, or gels for 48 hours before treatment — they can over-dry the enamel.

• Avoid smoking or vaping right before the appointment, as it may reduce whitening results and irritate gums.

Comfort Tips:

• Wear comfortable clothing and avoid colored lip products.

• Bring a sweater or light blanket, since whitening lamps can feel cool.
